We have developed this tool so that companies like yours can understand how they are contributing to the SDGs.
At Habic, associated companies are committed to sustainability and continuous improvement. That’s why they focus on obtaining management and product system certifications. These certifications are, to this day, a fundamental aspect that provides numerous advantages and differential value to companies. They serve as an incentive to carry out improvement processes, both in their products and in their services and management.
The accreditation of these certifications is undoubtedly a differential value in the market as, on one hand, it improves the company’s image and, on the other, it generates trust among clients, consumers, shareholders, and competent authorities.
ISO 9001: Quality management of the process adopted by companies to ensure that the product/service provided meets the requirements desired by the client.
ISO 14001: Management of the company’s environmental performance, demonstrates a commitment to environmental sustainability of its activities, including production processes, products, and services.
ISO 14006: Promotes the consideration of all environmental aspects at all stages of the product design and development process throughout its life cycle, striving to achieve products with the minimum possible environmental impact.
ISO 45001: Management of the safety and health of workers employed in the production of the product/service through constant control and mitigation of risks to their safety.
ISO 50001: Helps organizations implement an energy policy and adequately manage the energy aspects derived from their activity, such as services, facilities, products, etc., which translates into real and quantifiable savings in energy costs for organizations.
EU Ecolabel: Type I label, promoted by the European Commission. It voluntarily identifies products that have a reduced environmental impact throughout their entire life cycle. For the granting of this label, the following impacts are taken into account, among others: use of natural resources and energy; emissions to air, water, and soil; waste disposal; noise and effects on ecosystems.
Nordic Swan: Type I label, promoted by the Nordic Council of Ministers. The ecological criteria are based on the product’s life cycle, including criteria such as the consumption of natural resources and energy, emissions to air, water, and soil.
Level: Semi-type I label for the furniture sector, promoted by FEMB. The LEVEL® certification process examines and evaluates not only the choice of materials used in products and their manufacture but also the social behavior of the company, its energy consumption, and the environmental and human impacts of the chemical components used.
FSC: Semi-type I label, promoted by FSC. Guarantees environmentally responsible, socially beneficial, and economically viable forest management.
PEFC: Semi-type I label, promoted by PEFC. It sets objectives linked to environmental conservation, productivity improvement, and promotion of socioeconomic development in rural areas through responsible forest management.
Cradle to Cradle: Semi-type I label, promoted by the Cradle to Cradle Institute. It evaluates five categories: effects on human health, degree of material reuse, use of renewable energy during manufacturing, water management, and the behavior of producing companies regarding their treatment of employees and the environment.
EPD: Type III label, promoted by the International EPD System®. An Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is a verified document that provides information on environmental aspects and impacts of a product throughout its life cycle. It serves as a standard for environmental comparison between similar products.
