The ADDESIGN project, led by the Habic, Aclima, Ondarreta, and IK IngenierĂa consortium, aims to radically transform home product manufacturing through large-scale additive manufacturing.

During the 3rd Greentech Forum held at BEC! in Barakaldo, the Habic Cluster presented this initiative, supported by the 2023 Innovative Business Groupings Aid Program, within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan.
Focusing on large-scale habitat products, ADDESIGN will explore the potential of eco-innovative materials to minimize the carbon footprint in the manufacturing of these types of products.
The project will address key challenges, such as developing optimized designs for additive manufacturing and the feasibility of shared manufacturing cells between companies. A collaborative facility will be established within the Habic-UPV/EHU Company Classroom agreement to explore this new technology and provide the sector with a new experimentation tool.
Structured in six work packages, ADDESIGN will focus on innovative design, validation of eco-innovative materials, and accelerating the implementation of additive manufacturing in the sector. Expected results include the validation of materials, design and production processes adapted to these products, full-scale prototypes, and technological strengthening for participating SMEs in the cluster ecosystem.
In summary, ADDESIGN marks a milestone in the digital transformation of the habitat sector, pointing the way towards more sustainable and innovative manufacturing, with a collaborative approach towards a decentralized and shared future.
