Meeting of the Environment and SDG Working Group – March 2025

Last Friday, March 28, companies associated with Habic met at the SITAB facilities (Itziar Industrial Park, Itziar-Deba) to address key projects and strategies related to sustainability and sector regulations.

The day began with a presentation by SITAB, where attendees could learn firsthand about the company’s trajectory and innovative solutions. Subsequently, progress on various strategic projects was presented:

• Gensustrae Project (DFG): an initiative framed within the valorization of sustainable resources.

• Furniture SCRAP – POCTEFA Project: a cross-border collaboration proposal to improve waste management in the furniture sector.

In the regulatory section, discussions focused on eco-design strategies applicable to the sector and the changes introduced by the “Omnibus” regulation within the framework of the European Green Deal, which aim to simplify legislation and facilitate compliance by companies.

Lastly, upcoming events and training actions were addressed, highlighting the Basque Circular Summit, a reference congress in Circular Economy, and new training opportunities on sustainability for companies in the sector.

This meeting reaffirms the commitment of Habic and its companies to innovation, sustainability, and adaptation to a constantly evolving regulatory environment.
